When you get the chance to be coached through the deadlift by Andy Bolton - the first guy ever to deadlift over 1000lbs - you take it, right? That's exactly what you get to do at our Brutal Strength and Explosive Power seminars. But hold on, before you get to that point there's a whole lot of hard work to be done, so you'd better be ready to sweat.
The Muscle & Fitness team were at the first seminar in the series*** at the Training Lab in East Grinstead and left not only with personalised coaching cues, technique pointers, and brand-new ideas for pre-workout mobilisation and movement drills, but we also left with an enormous deadlift PB.
Andy Bolton and Andy McKenzie (of Ironmac Fitness) left no prisoners as they put our focused group through a gruelling series of drills, circuits, and movement preparation which us gasping for breath (and some of us jumping vertically onto a 49'' box from a standing start). The second half of the seminar put the drills into action. We'd already broken the squat, bench, and deadlift movements down into minute detail so our coaches could eliminate any weaknesses. Now it was time to put the big lifts back together again and get to grips with some seriously heavy metal.
It wasn't just Muscle & Fitness who smashed PBs that day. Most of the group left with at least one, if not two or three incredible 1RM personal bests.
Are you ready to test yourself alongside the best?
Look out for the full story in the November issue of Muscle & Fitness on sale 10th October.
